Public Figures

Britain’s official statistics

The edition of 20 September 2026

Nothing notable published today.

We would rather send you this than manufacture significance.

No official statistics we cover are published at the weekend, and none of the publishers released today. Four of our datasets were still fetched this morning — the prison bulletins, the port and airport tables, house prices and the claimant count — and every file came back byte-for-byte identical to the copy we already hold. Nothing new published, and nothing was revised: the July house price figures we reported on 16 September stand exactly as published.

NHS England's waiting times were not checked today: the publisher has changed its statistics pages and our collection software, finding none of the links it expected, stopped rather than guess — the sixth such stop in seven days. The July figures we reported on 10 September are unaffected; the next monthly figures are due around the second Thursday of October, and the page change will be reviewed by a person before then.

Today also closes this month's collection window for the CAA's airport tables, and the July tables did not appear in it; we will look for them again when the October window opens. MHCLG's newest temporary accommodation figures, in a changed file format since 20 August, still await a human reading before our software will parse them.
