The edition of 31 August 2026
Nothing notable published today.
We would rather send you this than manufacture significance.
Monday, the August bank holiday, and nothing was due: no dataset is in a release window this late in the month, and the only announcement on today's statistics calendar — Northern Ireland Civil Service personnel figures — is not a series we cover. So nothing was fetched, and there was nothing to compare. This is the last quiet day the calendar promises: the September releases begin tomorrow, when the Met Office station data window opens on the first of the month.
Two standing gaps, for the record. MHCLG's new temporary accommodation figures, published on 20 August in a changed file format, still await a human reading before our software will parse them; until then the homelessness series ends at the quarter we already hold. And the August prison bulletin never appeared in the Ministry of Justice's usual window, so we watch the announcements calendar for it as September's window opens on the 8th.
