Public Figures

Britain’s official statistics

The edition of 30 August 2026

Nothing notable published today.

We would rather send you this than manufacture significance.

Sunday, and nothing was due: the publishers do not release at weekends, no dataset is in a release window this late in the month, and today's statistics calendar carried no announcements at all. So nothing was fetched, and there was nothing to compare. The quiet stretch ends with the September releases: the first scheduled fetch is the Met Office station data when its window opens on Tuesday, the first of September.

Two standing gaps, for the record. MHCLG's new temporary accommodation figures, published on 20 August in a changed file format, still await a human reading before our software will parse them; until then the homelessness series ends at the quarter we already hold. And the August prison bulletin never appeared in the Ministry of Justice's usual window, so we watch the announcements calendar for it. September will be the test of both: the prison window reopens on the 8th, and the temporary accommodation file needs a human before then.
